God's Call To Ministry (part 1)

Speaker: Brandon Phillips Series: Ephesians - The Church - A Mystery Revealed Category: The Gospel, The Church, Ministry and Service Scripture: Ephesians 3:7–10

Sermon Outline

In this passage, Paul gives the church at Ephesus five characteristics of God’s call to ministry. God calls us to ministry:

  1. In His Prerogative (3:7a)
  2. By His Preference (3:7a)
  3. According to His Power (3:7b)
  4. Regardless of our Position (3:8a)
  5. For His Plan (3:9-10)

Quotes:

"Faith is the gift of God. It's part of the whole salvation package that God gives to us through the work of Christ for us and the work of the Holy Spirit in us. It's not our contribution, so to speak, to God's great plan of salvation. God does it all. It's part of the unsearchable riches of Christ." ~ Jerry Bridges

"Those who seek the deeper Christian life and those who want the riches that are in Christ Jesus seek no place, no wealth, no things, only Christ." ~ A.W. Tozer
