A Biblical Response To The Arrest Of Pastor James Coates (Selected Scripture)

  1. We must exercise Christian Charity (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
  2. We must weep with those who weep (Romans 12:14-16)
  3. We must remember our brother in chains even if we disagree with the stand he took (Hebrews 13:3)
  4. We must refrain from harsh judgment and recognize that these brothers are operating out of conscience and conviction (Romans 12:3; 14:4-5)
  5. We must recognize that while we may not have taken the same stand, courageous men have always been willing to stand alone (2 Timothy 4:16-17)
  6. We must recognize that our enemy will gain his foothold in the church through division (James 4:1-12)
  7. We must not think that the given reasons for persecution will always be preaching the Gospel (2 Cor 4:7-11)
